Nexus 5x Thoughts/Review

@Atomic_Charge I know it is late for get cracking but I haven’t posted content in a long while so here ya go.

So got my Nexus 5x. A lot of the default Google apps can be deleted. Google now isn’t forced down your throat. An improvement over the Nexus 5 for sure.

Screen color is better than the 5 or LG G4, cannot tell the difference between 1440 and 1080.

Call Quality on T-MOBILE is the best I have ever had.
Quick Charge 3.0 is fucking sweet. Going to see how the battery holds up today. USB C is a pain though. But guess that encourages me to get Quick Charge compatible chargers now.

Fingerprint scanner is very fast and gets out of the way.

Going to test NFC at lunch today.

Going to run stock ROM at least to this weekend to build a opinion.

Tried NFC at lunchtime at Subway worked flawlessly.

I like mine too...

I would use the sd card slot if it had one but I don't feel any regret in it not having one.

Does it have expandable storage?

Really whish it had an SD card

@Ethereal nope. But for $270 off contract it is hard to beat at the price.

That is pretty damn good, I'll consider this one over the Oneplus3

weird question but why would it not work good?
I got a nexus 7 2012 and it worked good too, you just need to be very intimated with the other device.

Not saying it wouldn't just wanted to test it before I gave a comment.

ah fair. but honestly Google knows how to make a phone and they are well documented. So i wondered negative stuff XD

but does it have a jackplug?

its a new trend removing the jackplug.

It has an jackplug haven't tested it yet. Will run and A/B test the plug VS my portable DAC/amp to see how it holds up.

I drove over my 5x, its a good phone.

Nexus 5 series is the perfect phone, but i though i read they finally stopped. So surprise to hear there is a X now.

But i still use my SG2, with android 6.0.1, It doesn't burn now since i installed a new kernel.

My cons thus far are lack of dual sim, SD card support, removable battery.

Is there a good reason they do that? (except for in foil head ideas of that it always has power.) I just don't think its practical what if your phone stuck on something.

Reduces weight and helps keep the phone more solid. The Quick Charge kinda makes up for that though. The biggest con is that it is Android.

There is an Ubuntu Touch and Sailfish port in the works so I will be watching that.

The quick charge on these Nexus phones is amazing

More of a cyanogenmod person myself. just because it supports more tools. I like sail OS it looks cleaner. If they had more compatibles i would have used it.

Running CM on 5x right now, works great!

Wish it had a stable release by now. Gonna roll on a snapshot this weekend.

now try https://github.com/meefik/linuxdeploy/releases on it :D

but yeah i know it works great. Specially because its rooted and you get more control over your phone like a switch to kill apps when they take to long to respond.

the nightly builds are usually stable too, but i think they rather call them that so they don't have to guarantee that everything will work.
