Your specs are very decent, are you having issues with it? Or you want to use a surround setup?
To upgrade this I would get and SSD!, put your OS and main games on it.
GTX 660ti is a very good card for SLI, if you want more performance, add another 660ti, you have enough PSU power to do this very safely.
If you are looking forward to Surround, you will need more ram on the GPU, at least 3 or 4 gigs.
It look fairly solid. But if you want more FPS or shear performance. you can OC your cpu. get an ssd, or get another 660ti to put in SLI.
any combo of those things is a worthwhile upgrade and should last you 3yrs (provided you don't get engrossed in the "new shiny thing".)
gpu is fine, OC it if you want a little more.
SSD for SURE... Samsung 840 is my e-peen hardon atm, pro if you want to really show off, but for gaming I'd go with a non-pro.
Your system is pretty future proof, in 6 months maybe get a 2nd 660, but this depends on what your doin'
At this point in time the only thing that could be upgraded is ssd and more ram. in my opinion.
You could always get the i7 or a gtx 780
The last thing he should invest money in, is more RAM.
He already has 16GB, which is a massive overkill unless you're a hardcore video editor.
I'd personally go for a decent CPU cooler, a dedicated soundcard or a SSD.
