Next gen 8-core optimization?

I was wondering that: will the next generation see games optimized for eight core CPU’s. My reason for thinking this Is due to the fact that both the Xbone and PS4 are using AMD eight core CPU’s so will this see more PC ports being optimized for more than four cores. Thanks for reading (possibly answering.) Also should I upgrade my Intel Q6600, quad core OC @ 3.0ghz, to a AMD FX 8320.

My specs are:

Intel Q6600 OC @ 3.0ghz;

Gigabyte EP45C-DS3R Mobo;

8GB DDR3 1866mhz have no idea how it works with my mobo don't ask;

Radeon 7850 GHZ Edition;

2x 2TB Seagate Barracuda;

OCZ 650W 80+ Bronze PSU;

Asus Xonar DX Sound Card;

24 Inch AOC 2ms 1920x1080 60hz Monitor,

Turtle Beach X12;

Cheap ass earbuds;

(more non-realivent crap)

Well the PS3 used a 5 core cell-based CPU and the Xbox 360 a 3 core cell-based CPU. Although they were multi-core cpu's the main difference between that generation and the next is the architecture that they are based on, with the next gen consoles using x86 architecture we should start seeing more games being optimised to use more than 2 or 4 cores.

If you have the money I would look at upgrading that CPU and maybe investing in a decent pair of headphones.
