What on earth is happening, did they release a new version without telling it to the customers?
Today I came from a long trip, and wanted to install some updates, this is the screen that came up when I went to windows update> Details:
Windows 10 updates include new builds. For enterprise versions, there is a version that doesn't do this, it's called LTSB
ver 1511 is the 2015 Fall update aka Threshold 2
after the update you need to clean again almost all the win store apps, like: map, phone, xbox, groove etc.
Are you saying i need to uninstall them? I actually kind of like them.
I don't think so.
The way I see it, it's just another category of updates to manage depending on your situation.
Like... Security updates, Critical updates, optional updates.
Optional updates being the most difficult to manage because you have to wait a few days and google EVERY ONE to make sure it's not a glitching update that will fail, or is one of the updates that makes you upgrade from Win 7 to Win 10 NO CHOICE, for example.
Or you're like me, don't care, and ignore updates, in turn updating everything by hand.
or be more like me and disable all updates no matter what they are.
I used to do that when I had windows
Um yeah... You need Enterprise LTSB with a WSUS-like registry patch if you want to stop updates.
The only two choices in Windows 10 are "Automatic" or "Install and notify for restart"
My vm win 10 is still at 10.0.10240
Lol that's what I mean. If something is scary I go and download the security patch by hand and do gpu updates and everything else by hand as well
I was running WSUS at work... realized that WSUS was free, I was fortunate to have a license for Windows 2008 R2...
So I setup a server.. I choose my updates centrally for all 7 machines.
Instead of choosing what updates I want 7 times in a row.
I choose once from a server.
I should state this for future reference.
Not everyone has server experience or this knowledge or that knowledge.
If you have control of the udpates, do this:
