I have a Samsung EVO SSD next to me at the moment, and am wanting to use it as my boot drive, with my current Western Digital 1tb hdd as a data drive. I will be using the samsung migration software.
My current SATA type is set to IDE, and that is with my WD 1tb HDD.
When I migrate the HDD to the SSD and set the SSD to boot priority, will I need to change the sata type to ACHI from IDE in the bios and go into the registry beforehand to accept ACHI, or will it be fine to leave it as IDE, clone the hdd and change the boot priority to the SSD?
Thanks
