hi I was looking for new speakers for my pc and was wondering what would be the best option I would like to spend less than a 100 but would go as high as under 200 if it was worth it
I would get Klipsch Promedia 2.1, unless you want to build a speaker set with high end used subwoofer and some high quality used bookshelf speakers.

I use them, they are really clear, loud, and sound great.
I would suggest you listen to others opinions and ideas as well, not just mine before making up your mind
Look for a used pair of klipsch promedia 2.1. You can get a used set for under $100 and are a pretty decent set speakers without going the home theatre setup route.
whaaat you dont want headphones with a dac amp that wont color your audio? crazy!
I have dt770 pro 80s and klipsch promedias and the dt770s are used 99% of the time, while the speakers see almost no use, I would recommend nice headphones more than nice speakers, but it depends, what do you do the most on you pc?
i use my pc for about everything i listen to a lot of music espically metal and death metal but i do play a lot of games like skyrim (modded of course) dead space, and a lot of horror games doom 3, etc and ive always had speakers and never went down the headphone path so i don't know much about them and dac amps so i thought i would just stick with speakers but i have beens aving money and re doing my office and building a new rig and buying a new moniter and speakers so i just thought i would stick with them but if u recommend headphones i would check them out
No, stick with what you are comfortable with, I was just stating what i like, some people prefer headphones, others speakers, neither is better for everyone
ok but outside of pc and gaming i play guitar and was looking for a new pair of headphones to use when im playing but don't want it to go through my amp so not everyone will hear it so would the pair you use be good for this usage i just like speakers for my pc but for practicing and maybe eventually recording so would this pair http://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-770-PRO-250-ohms/dp/B0006NL5SM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1391476747&sr=8-1&keywords=dt770+pro+80s be good for that usage
I use a pair of Kilpsch ProMedia 2.1's also and am happy with them. Of all the "computer speakers" I've spent any time with, these are among the best imo; especially if you can pick them up for $120 or less on sale. But agree with Crimson Ryoka, go listen to a few sets and decide for yourself. Bring your phone or any mp3 player with a song you like and have listened to on other systems, ask to hook it up for comparison (beware that this plan can backfire into buying much more expensive gear than intended, or so I've been told).
I was also impressed by the Harmon Kardon Sound Sticks and Logitech z263. Thought the Bose Companion 5's were decent too, but they'd have to cut the price almost in half for me to consider them in the same conversation.
