New skylake computer

Hi,
My current system is getting a bit slow and I waited for skylake to buy a new one.

Now I have:
i5 750 @ 3500
Asrock P55 Deluxe3
HD 6950 2GB
8GB DDR3 1333MHz
CM 690II
2 * 1TB HDD
1 * Crucial BX100 250GB
Coolermaster Silent pro gold 600W
Asus Xonar DGX

The computer will be used for gaming and I also want it to look good with black and white colors. After doing some research I found this setup:
I will reuse my PSU(600W is enough I think?), HDD's and SSD and the Xonar DGX if the onboard audio isn't good enough.

i5 6600K ~ 274€

I'll be using it for gaming and I don't think I have any use of an i7, will be overclocking this one.

Asus Z170-A ~ 169.95€

Looks like a solid motherboard, really love the look and I like asus as a brand

Corsair Vengeance LPX CMK16GX4M2A2133C13 ~ 134.95€

2 sticks of 8GB RAM, this is the cheapest black ram I found in the store I want to order, I need 16GB because my 8GB isn't enough atm (minecraft mods and chrome takes a lot!)

Sapphire R9 390 Nitro ~ 374.95 €

After some research the 390 looks like a better card then the 970 and I have slight preference for AMD because I had some problems with Nvidia before, but not enough preference to not buy the best bang for buck. Sapphire is a good brand for AMD and like the look. I'll be gaming on 2 1080p monitors with number 3 coming in the near future.

NZXT s340 ~ 74.9€

Nice looking case, not to expensive. Will be putting 2 extra 140mm fans in the front

NZXT Kraken x31 ~ 84.95€

Costs about 35€ more then a good air cooler and like the look of this more. This isn't really a smart buy but I think but it looks good. Are there any better 120mm cpu aio coolers? This will be mounted in the back spot.

I also want to use a 24 pin and two 8 pin extension cords for my psu cables because they are white sleeved, this costs 26.85€ for the three.

Total: 1188.34€

The max amount I would like to spend is 1200€.

Any remarks on this setup or does it look good as it is?
The shop I want to order at is: www.4launch.nl
This shop doesn't have all the z170 motherboards but it's one of the cheaper ones and I can go pick up the stuff myself because it isn't to far.

Best regards!

Looks solid, the cooler bothers me though. If you want something that looks nice and has good performance I'd go with a cryorig R1. Pretty sure that Vengeance LPX can fit under the R1 ultimate. Otherwise get the R1 universal. If you're looking for silence and looks then there's the dark rock pro 3.

Erhm, that's in GBP... they're in the Netherlands.

Shit thought it was a UK seller. Didn't even realize the currency difference xD

It's too late now, you're going to have to be hanged for your discrepancy. /s

Good to hear.
Is the dark rock just better then the x31 or just better bang for buck?

(Actually i'm from Belgium but pc parts are cheaper in the Netherlands and I live close to the border. )

Depends how you define "better" (silence/thermal performance/aesthetics). Worst case scenario it'd probably be a touch worse in all three but then, the price difference...

Build looks fine to me.

Skylake isn't really worth it over haswell

I just feel stupid buying the old thing when the new one is out. And because I can't reuse most of my computer (giving to to brother) i'll need to buy most new stuff and I find that going for skylake instead of hasswel is only about 60€ more expensive.

Over here it's like 100 dollar difference between skylake and the i5 4460.

Not to mention the added cost of a 1151 motherboard over an 1150.

Suppose it doesn't matter too much at that budget, though with the money saved and other budgeting you could probably up the GPU to an R9 fury without much issue.

Skylake has like no real advantage over haswell for gaming, the CPU performance was upped like 5% or something small like that.

I compared with the 4690K and the asus z97-A, the price difference is: €7 for the cpu, €25 for the mobo and €28 for the RAM.
The r9 fury costs 275€ more then the r9 390

Suppose ya might as well stick with it then. Pricing is weird.

Yeah pricings are diffrent in the EU.
Still the Z170 boards are a bit over expensive for my taste.
But yeah why not just jump the "new tech" right?

I ordered today, I even found some cheaper ram €125 instead of €135.

I also took SpaceCat's advice and got the dark rock pro 3.

Thnx for all help/comments!
