New setup? curved screens?

so im due a huge upgrade on all my hardware my pc is fine at this monument in time but my desk, screens keyboard and mice all really could do with an upgrade being almost close to 7 years old!

so im looking a dual screens about 24" but not sure just to go for something curved or flat panel but im not sure i want to keep it under £120 on each screen but i may stretch that providing its worth it... like are curved screens any good ??

any suggestions guys?

Curved screens are only good if you can get a 3440x1440p and those are like 900-1200 pounds.

I would go with a single 2560x1440p monitor like this one.

See i don't really wanna spend like 300 quid on a single screen

Curved panels are overrated unless you are getting a large screen,(my opinion) there whole point is to make it so all of the screen is an equal distance from your face.

Just get a few good IPS 24" some thing from ASUS, BenQ

i was looking at some benq's and aoc tbh i dont need top line stuff just hd as im using a screen from cash converters and one was giving to me :']

Mmmmmmmmmm depends though.

What are you trying to achieve with the monitors?

Cause if you are gaming, then it would be better to buy a single nice screen than two cheap crappy ones.

If you were buying 3 cheap monitors for surround gaming, that would be a completely different story.

see one is being hooked up to an xbox one and the other is my pc which may go dual screen when xbox is off

Ok, well that is definitely an important point.

Acer has a lot of really nice 23 inch ips panels. The only issue is they are glossy.

I personally like glossy panels, so it is not an issue for me.

The screen is tack sharp and the black levels are nice for an led panel.

tbh if im not paying tons colour doesnt phase me at all

I see a curved screen as more of a marketing gimmick than a really useful product feature.

  1. It makes a negligible difference in immersion.
  2. It's easier to break when moving.
  3. It costs twice as much.
  4. If the screen is at all reflective then you can have more of a glare problem than you do with a flat screen.

Admittedly, they look cool. If they were the same price as their flat competition, I'd consider getting some, but the "cool" factor doesn't justify any price premium to this dork.

i was thinking the same tbh if im able to go bigger id mount a big one above my normal screens

iv been tempted by this
