I was thinking that my old toshiba laptop with an intel pentium dual core T4300 and an ATI radeon HD 4500 was getting kinda old for playing games (it can't even play crysis 2 in minimum settings!).
So i wan't to build my own pc for the first time. My budget is around 1000-1200€. The budget doesn't includ OS or any peripherals.
But i have a question. Do you think i should wait for haswell as it will change the socket of the mobo. Will the 1155 be continued by intel?
P.S. - I live in Portugal so some of the hardware might not be found here.
If you're REALLY worried about upgrade paths, then dont worry about 115X sockets. Just get 2011. It will give you a long time upgrade path
155 will not be continued by Intel. the 3770k is the final supported processor. But, the 3770k is an AMAZING cpu. It will be able to play games without bottle necks for years.
tldr; Don't bother waiting for Haswell. The 3770k is plenty powerful. If you need a path with upgrading choices, then go to socket 2011 and get a 3820.
ofc a case is personal, i just pickedup one ☺you can choose what ever you like on a case offcourse.
16GB ramm is a bit overkill at the moment yes, you can also decide to buy 2x4 GB kingstong hyper X memory. if you prefer that. i just choose 16gb cause it fitted into the budget. but 8GB is enough. you save also money then.
