New respect for vinyl

Or rather the mastering that takes place for vinyl, Not necessarily for the quality of the vinyl itself. I despise reading rage threads about how CD quality or vinyl quality sucks, almost always subjective personal opinions. There are almost always a small point being made about how the mastering of vinyl are never done by whoever mastered the CD, quite frankly that got me curious. Since quite a few albums I own are brickwalled which hides quite a bit of the splendor (Aka, cymbals or the baseline). I managed to acquire some 24bit/96KHz files of Opeth's Blackwater Park, since the original album had pretty bad mastering. I don't want to go into describing the sound, I will tell you that I've fallen in love with this album now.

That being said, I encourage anyone to listen to a vinyl version of any brickwalled album they currently own.

Vinyl rips are always the best, I run them through my "Studio Reference" setup which brings the audio out rather well despite my lack of full equipment.

I'm always looking for my Favorites on vinyl...

theres something about seeing a big stack of them on my shelf that gives me more satisfaction then just cold CD cases.
