i got a motherboard GA-990XAUD3 of Gigabyte AMD FX-8350 and i had 2x4gbs of crusial balistix tactical 1600mhz and i add 2 more 4gbs dims but now in the bios i see 16gbs but in the windows says 12 gbs usable of 16 gbs i opend the tuner i have and it says that all the dims are ok nothing problematic but all the rest programs including the windows sees 12 gbs of ussable memory.. any ideas whats is going on ??
Seems odd that your BIOS is reporting 16 and Windows is reporting 12. Maybe one of the new modules you added is bad or one of the dimm slots is bad. I would try booting using only 1 RAM module in the first dimm slot to see if Windows detects it, and if so then move the RAM module to the second dimm slot and reboot. Repeat this process until you've tested each dimm slot using all of your RAM.

well its says in the windows 16Gbs of alocated memory but only 12Gbs are usable.I dont know maybe it the case that my Graphics Card steals 1G of each ram dim in order to help it out when needed... but i checked all they are working correct individual.
No, your graphics card would not cause you to lose 4 gigs of RAM. The fact that windows says you have 12 gigs available and not 15.xx, 14.xx or 13.xx seems very unusual and would lead me to suspect there is probably something incompatible. you might have to clock down the memory. sometimes the motherboard cant support that much ram running at 1600. sucks man. try 1066
well after a a very good inspect the motherboard had corapeted the bios flash so i changed the choise to the second one and it sees all the 16 Gb at1600 of the memery np at all BUT i had to change the GPU in a lower psi X8 slot a new problem saw it self after propably 2 hours of gaming i had a shut down no blue sreen just puff out of power ....... i opend the side window and the insides were quite hoter than it soud be i check all and i thouch the north bridge and it was burnig beyond the normal point im thinking now is that the case... well if any one have any idea what is hapening im open to sugestions and the suden shut down has been radom and antill now it has hapend at lest 12 times.. i think im in the road of new motherboard O_o
yeah, when one thing on the board goes out, stuff like that starts to happen.
And the funny think is the vrm is not hot at all and the core is siting at 20-25 with watercool not doing nothing so im pretty fked i think
i search a bit more about the spesifc model (rev.3.0-4.0) of the Motherboard and it has quite a lot issuses after a surten age with thermal holds and weird bios loops or bugs that their not fixed.... it is sad bc is an amazing board oveall....if u remove the frustrusion . As it seems im going for a ROG formula-z just to be sure no problems will saw up in fron of me again. at least for the next 2 years.
