NEW PHONE, options? (Nexus 5?)

Hello, I'm currently in the market for a new phone, I have a Nokia N8 currently and it does OK, it's pretty ancient though  and it doesn't run any modern Phone OS such as android.

So I was looking for a new phone, either on a monthly plan or just to buy up-front. I don't want to spend much I was looking in the £200-300 range, I think an iPhone is out of the question if we're being serious, I was looking at the S4 or the One at the very top end of my budget, but I have heard good things about the Nexus 5 so I'm really interested in your opinions on the Nexus 5

I have the S4 Mini on Verizon.  It's amazing, and I only got the mini because of the size, since I was using a BlackBerry Torch before I switched to the S4 mini.  Plus, Android.  Is.  Amazing.  iOS is absolutely out of the question if you want a real smartphone.  Android is like a computer in your pocket, plus it's so customizable and easy to use.

I would wait and see for the OnePlus One phone, if I was you. Should completely remove the Nexus 5 (Which I got, and I love it) from the category.

If I was to upgrade again I would consider a BlackBerry or a cheap android with a keyboard, I find that the touch phones are not very effective phones. However if you would like a portable multimedia device, look no further than android. The new large Sony's pack the power of a large tablet in a smaller form factor. However all you really need is a phone with a highish density screen in your size preferance and a hardware video decoder. Im not sure what kind of data plans are available in europe, but if they are poor consider a phone with upgradable storage. I find that most phones storage is pitiful if you like to watch movies synced over btsync on home network. Lastly, remember that androids are horrible phones, but good iPod replacements, and web media consumers.

It seems like all the phones today are flawed or hugely expensive, I guess I'll have to wait for the mystery OnePlus One

Got real tired of waiting and I needed a phone, so I bought an S5 unlocked for £400. I love it, it has features I now can't live without like the IR emitter... so yeah, <3 my S5, I have started using my computer a LOT less because this beast does whatever I want :DDD
