New PC

Hello users from the tek syndicate community, I am currently in the process of trying to select parts for a computer that is for gaming and only gaming on a fairly low budget. Below is a list of parts that I have currently selected and think would do a decent job for what I am trying to achieve.

AMD FX 6350 six core

ASRock 970 Pro3 R2.0 ATX

two XFX Radeon HD 7750 1gb

Corsair CX 600M 80+ Bronze

Rosewill Challenger

Seagate Barracuda 1tb 7200 RPM

I just would like suggestions/recommendations for this build, I am on a very limited budget, but i would like to build myself a computer.

First off how much are you looking to spend?

CPU: Get the 6300. It is cheaper and not that much slower. It is the same chip as the 6350 just clocked slightly lower, however with a tiny bit of overclocking you can make it just as fast if not faster.

Mobo: Not familiar with that board. i like the Asus M5A97 R 2.0 but that is just me.

GPU: No. Why are you going Crossfire? That isn't a very good idea. You're better off getting one single more powerful GPU.

PSU: FIne

Case: Fine. I like the Fractal Core 3000 and the NZXT Source 210 Elite better but they are a bit more

HDD: I prefer the WD Blue drive. They seem to be more reliable.

I am looking to spend around $600, and I personally knew that xfire was a bit 'dumb', but using xfire with those GPUs was slightly better and a decent bit more expensive than the Gigabyte 750 ti and R7 260x that I was also looking at. I chose the mobo because it had great reviews and had more than all of the features that i need/want, and as for the case I love it and it is very cheap.

Alright. You forgot RAM and an OS. Do you need those or are you salvaging them from a different system?

the RAM that I selected (and yes forgot to list) is A-Data XPG V1 8gb 1600, and the OS is going to windows 8.1.  And I would like to know, that if you were given the choice between a Gigabyte 750 ti or Sapphire R7 260X to use for gaming, which would you think would be the better choice?

Here is what I would do. It is a bit over your budget but the 270 is better than either of those.

If It was between those? Neither.

I'd get the R7 265. It is faster than the 750 Ti and about the same price.

The 270 is a great card and i checked the pcpartpicker link you sent and the only reason that I picked a few parts over some others was because they were slightly cheaper and about the same in every way and here is my build in the config/build that i would like to build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3HBVF

Know a cheaper monitor that supports a decent display technology better than the one that i have selected?

That motherboard is meh. There are no heatsinks on the VRMs and in a tight case they could get hot and throttle your CPU. No OCing on that board of course either.

You don't need an optical drive. It is a waste.

And No monitors aren't really my expertise. Just make sure it is 1080p and has an IPS or PLS panel. No TN.

DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort (mini or otherwise) are all fine connectors.

I know that optical drives are not really necessary, but given my particular situation, I am just not in a situation to not have an optical drive. I know that about the case and mobo, but in just about my house is quite warm, and I only intend to overclock the CPU to a max of ~4.0ghz, and I only intend to overclock the GPU if the games I play start to lag at settings that are acceptable.

Don't expect to overclock anything on the ASRock Pro3.  No heatsinks and a weak 4+1 power phase can barely handle a 6 core reliably.

Any mobo recommendations? Or just the one that DerKreiger recommended?

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Freaksamcker/saved/4DSj This will be fine if your not oc'ing or planning on running cf. It will as a whole run pretty nice and while xfx isnt awesome its a killer deal on the card. You can shave the ssd out but you would be hard pressed to get much cheaper than that for the system as a whole.

I have added a monitor and OS and also removed the SSD, because I have had several issues with having more than one drive in the past (and I want all of my storage to be the same speed so I dont confuse myself later on) http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3HFKY

The earlier versions of that board had VRM failures. Personally I'd go with the M5A97 R 2.0 I recommended. No history of failures and I've used a few of them and they have been solid.

I have used Biostar Ta970 in the past decent board not really an ocer but your can put a modest oc with that cpu. Plus you can save a few bucks by not ocing and using the stock cpu cooler. In your case i would skip the oc on the cpu and oc the gpu with such a rig.

ya,like that board better its not that much more.

The one DerKreiger recommended is good.
