New PC

Hey guys I built an inexpensive rig a few months ago and am now passing it on to my Dad. The only part I can borrow is a GTX 670 which i COULD leave in or take out and get a cheaper card for him like a 750ti. I have a $1000 budget. I'm torn between an 8350 or 4570. Those are the only two reasonably priced CPUs in Canada. The 8350 is $180 and the 4570 (non k) is like $190.

Intel build:

i5-4570 $195

MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate $95

8gb ADATA Ram $55

Refurb Corsair Enthusiast Series 650w $40

HDD: Salvaged with WINDOWS 7 from old PC

Cooler Master HAF 912 $50

OPTIONAL: PNY GTX 770 OC'd to 1150 mhz $330

AMD:

8350 $180

MOBO: 990fx comparable ~$100 board

Everything else is the same. Open to suggestions should I salvage the 670? Or even pick up another for $200 used and SLI?

Thanks

The 670 is still a very capable card.  It's slightly higher than the GTX 760.  Use it, and get the 750ti for your dad.

(750ti is for your dad)

Looks great. Only problem is that I'm in Canada and parts are MUCH more expensive :-( Thats basically what I'm looking at though.

Totally missed that.  Here's the canadian pcpp, with some stuff updated due to pricing.

Well, if he's got a HDD already, and he's saying that he does, you could take off the HDD or get a smaller one, and save a little money there...

Ya I got a 128gb Msata and a couple of mechanical drives lying around.
