Hi, I have Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 I bought new pc last week everything was great until this weekend then I started my new pc. Audio doesn`t work. I tried to reinstall windows, I have installed all drivers which i could found. Pc detects devices and i can see that it is playing, but I CAN`T HEAR IT. Is something more I can do ?
try the front panel audio connector, put in some headset, didyou havethe volume turned on, or some where disabled? also look in the device manager if all devices are installed, no unknown devices showed up, notice that youre gpu if hdmi on it has also an audio driver, make sure you install the audio driver from the asus sabbertooth cd.
if the back io does not give sound anymore thats strange, if all drivers are installed, try a head set in the back io. if you sure its a problem with the sound chip and not youre speakers then contect the store, for a rma. but it sounds wierd, can you please make a screenshot of youre devices manager..
I have tried front panel and I have installed all drivers from cd. http://s11.postimg.org/i11otlp5v/Untitled.png Here is screen shot And Still Doesn`t Work.
You are outputting the audio to the correct device? Sounds strange, but has caught many a person of guard before
Now have another problem if I connect head set in the front panel its makes as Microphone not as speaker or headset. How to fix it ?
did you disable maybe something in the asus soundcard suite?
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false Try these drivers, I've check the compatibility and these should work with your MOBO's Realtek ALC892 audio. You usually want the latest drivers from the original site if you can find it. Just accept the conditions and download the executable depending on your OS. You may want to go for US1 mirror.
Where I can find it, for able it ?
Have installed, but still doesn`t work. http://postimg.org/image/faekfg0dd/
what jack are you using? If the green one in the back, try this: Right click the sound icon in the tray > Playback devices > Select "Speakers" with the words "Realtek High Definition Audio Device" > Set Default > Restart > test it.
back panel, green.
Maybe anyone can help me via teamviewer ? (who know how to fix it)

I'm having a similar issue with the asus formula v crosshair. I have made sure on-board is enabled in bios. Have s/pdif going to a 9500gt (until I get my 7970 on Monday :D) Have swapped back and forth between default devices HDMI & Speakers haven't tried the optical yet because I'm too lazy o hook up the surround or turtles when I'm not going to be using them much anyhow. Saw some hotfix on audio not working due to a "timebomb" couldn't get anywhere with that research either tried unplugging and replugging hdmi into different ports and headphones on front panel no errors or anything listed in device manager. There was no audio at first but now I get the first part of the windows splash screens chime. Don't know if this is going to help in problem solving or not. (this topic also seems kind of abandoned) Edit: I got version of vista /7 drivers and they work now for my headphones but my tvs audio still doesn't work and I don't get it because it will when it initially boots / before I brought it out to this room. Going to go back to the other drivers and test them again.
Make sure audio is enabled in the BIOS. On my motherboard it's under onboard devices and for some reason when I load the extreme overclock profile it always disables my audio. BTW I have an ASUS crosshair v formula-z. Hope this helps
Well if that was in reguards to me that was my second sentance. For now I just have it running through the suround sound system should have my other card tomorrow and then i'll fix it I hope.
