Hey im really new to PC gaming iv had my PC and been gaming on it for about a week, I got a lot of free games with my graphics card and im really enjoying them, but are there any games you would recommend for a beginner? or what are the must have PC exclusives that I can get? last question could you name some games with the most impressive graphics, Im playing through sniper elite v2 and the graphics are amazing compared to what im used to on console and I enjoy games with great graphics :) Thanks, any help will be appreciated
Mirror's Edge, for sure. Amazing game, both graphically, and story-wise.
Hi again, Dan.
I played Far Cry 3 on console, and I was pretty disappointed with my experience. I recently picked it up for less than £10 on Steam, and I am really enjoying the game. Playing it the way it was meant to be played.
Just about any game you can think of is better on PC. Including Skyrim, because of the many mods you can run.
I would suggest viewing YouTube for any of my recommendations, to see if you like these games:
Chivalry: Medieival Warfare. I believe there is a Tek Syndicate server for that game.
War Thunder. It's free to play.
Just about any Total War game. The new one has a few bugs, best to wait for them to be fixed.
You'll probably want to try Crysis 3 on PC. The multiplayer is dead, but if you want to appreciate good graphics, your GPU will handle it.
Portal 2 and some of the Fallout games are a nice little playthrough.
Maybe the new Metro game. The first Metro was ok to playthrough, gave me a few frights.
Depends what kind of games you enjoy playing. I'll try to think of more.
It doesn't matter if the above games are for beginners or otherwise. Don't limit yourself because you happen to be new to PC gaming.
Don't forget to overclock that 7950.
Dwarf Fortress, also. My favorite game of all time.
Look into FF:XIV Online, as well. Coming out soon, as it is in beta right now. Great stuff, played FFXI for a little over 9 years, myself.
bio shock infinite has good graphics.
Brutal Legend- As it got re released for PC. I'm a huge Tenacious D fan. There are metal cameos everywhere and it's just a hilarious game all around, filled with action too!
Portal 2- One of the best games out there, it still has a thriving community on steam who love to make maps for it, so you can't really get bored, especially with a friend!
Skyrim- Depending on your card, the amount of mods you can throw on it, will make it look fantastic.
DeadSpace 3- Always a fun horror game and you can go co-op too!
Amnesia- Another Horror indie game that a lot of people get excited over
Don't Starve- A fun indie survivor game, i really recommend it. The developers support it a lot
Chivalry Medieval Warfare- Fun multiplayer game, it has a lot of following on these forums, so if you ever want some one to play with you could probably just make a forum post and ask!
Watch for websites like Humble Bundle and Bundlestars as they usually sell realy good games extremely cheap and most of it goes to charity!
speaking of the new humble bundle, i already have most those games :(
Same, i also bought Brutal Legend when it was on the Double Fine for beating their $7 average! And now it's a dollar! But oh well, at least it goes to charity.
The Witcher series if your looking for a in-depth rpg that spares no attention to detail.
Legend of Grimrock- A dungeon crawler that every step could be your last.
Hotline Miami- A game with a trippy feel that combines with extremely fast paced action.
Kerbal Space Program- You can just goof off building rockets or jet planes and launching them to space.
Torchlight 2- Some people consider it to be what Diablo 3 was meant to be.
Warframe- A F2P co-op game that has space ninja's
Dust: An Elysian Tail- A castlevania-esque game that has really tight controls and amazing combat. (I would suggest using a gamepad for it though)
Audiosurf- where your music is the game.
Team Fortress 2- A quirky F2P game that has various multiplayer modes and hats.
These are just some of the games I think off the top of my head, I'll edit my comment if I can think of any more.
ok can you put a message in that old pc thread that has loads of comments on it saying how far I should overclock it on afterburner because im wooried because its my first time :)
CS:GO is great and it costs 15 dollars.
Hm. Lets see.
Chivalry: Medieval Warfare - It is quite fun.
Skyrim (With mods) - If your computer can handle it, you can make it look amazing.
FTL - A very fun, but challenging indie game.
Rise Of The Triad - Ridiculously fun, but multiplayer is a game of "Get to the big gun first"
Borderlands 1or 2 - Fun game, the guns can become quite interesting.
Burnout Paradise - A decent racing game/ car emulator for doing things you would never get away with in life.
That's about all I can think of at the moment.
Arma 3 is really good but its £40 since it was realised a few days ago
