New PC build (700 USD)

Hi folks,
My old man is in the US so this is my chance to get a new PC build. Main reason is that my motherboard has a broken PCIE so I will sell my current PC. right now i think the best value intel CPU to get would be a i6600k and a Z170 LGA 1151 board that , im not sure about the Mo/bo so id like to know what you'd recommend. The idea is to do OC and use it mostly for gaming, what do you think about these items?

CPU: I5-6600K $238

budget Board: ASUS Z170-K $134

better board ASUS Z170 PRO GAMING $149

what PSU would you recommend ? i think 750 Watts is enough, im between Corsair or EVGA. As far as im concerned g2 is better than g1
EVGA 750 full modular

Corsair 850 w Full modular

Ram: Corsair Vengeance 16gb 3200 $89

And finally the Cooler, i have these 3 water cooler listed so far, corsair h60, h80 or Artic freezer 240

Another option would to go for air cooler, such as Cryorig H5 Universal, Be Quiet! Shadow Rock Slim or Alpenhofn Matterhorn Rev.C, ive heard theyre better than corsair h60

Looking forward to hearing from you

seems good , isnt it better to go for a Intel K CPU? if i OC i wont get bottleneck from the GPU , and i could get more in gaming right? that psu looks good , is there a similar corsair or evga? i trust more those brands to be honest. Since i wont be able to RMA every compoonent should be the most trusted to not fail . thanks for your help

the 6700 non k boost to 4ghz and you can set 4 as stock speed in the uefi and just disable boost. also the k part means you need a more expensive board and processor and with the 212 you'll only hit like 4.2-3 anyways unless you get a more expensive beefier cooler and by then you are 100$ over budget.

also i7-6700>i5 6600k

60$

ok thx, and what about this combo? looks like a nice offer but the board doesnt look that good

The CPU, board and Ram you sent is$ 479 , just a bit more and for i7 seems much better choice, about the RAm, isnt the corsair better than the Gskills? i wonder if its worth the extra bucks

it's a i5 and a micro atx board. the m series has less features and is smaller and you can get one for aorund 100$. you arent really saving money in that combo.

and the ripjaw series is pretty good and you wont notice a difference in speed or anything really. also you can oc the ram to around 2600~

good to know, didnt like that msi either.

Ok ill go for the ripjaws then, one question about the board, it only has 4 sata connectors, does it support SLI? not that i would do but just curious. Would it justify to get a better board, or is this asus you linked enough ? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132571&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-PCPartPicker,%20LLC-_-na-_-na-_-na&cm_sp=&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=
I might be able to spend a bit more, but since we are no longer considering OC im clueless

it does not support sli. it does not suport m.2 or u.2, and if you want a better board check out the z170 a

still not good enough?

that board looks sweet, actually i dont care about SLI, only faster and better quality board, Sata ports are important too, the second one is way too much lol. Is it worth it those extra $50? we still inside the budget x)

second one has a little better everything, but you could get by with the first one. unless you actually need the more sata ports it wont be a major difference.

the Z170-A 6 sata ports is more than enough, could you explain why these boards increase price? im a bit noob when it comes to today's boards

You said you had a 1070 and a case already, so here ya go. No compromises, but also no needless spending.

Good CPU with good overclocking and very solid mobo.
small ssd for boot and a bethesda game or some programs. 2th hhd
corsair 750 watt 80+ gold

features like m.2 and u.2 support, more sata ports, better power, more pci slots, better audio, ect... and dont use a seagate.

I always go with WD, but the budget..

Ok it looks good, but we have a similar build with i7 so we can change that cpu and remove the HDD , change cooler and keep that board , i already have hard drives, let me do the math and change thelist

ok so far so good, and what Rams are better, the Kingston or the Gskill?

SSD im between these 2:

Samsung 750: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-750-EVO-2-5-Inch-MZ-750500BW/dp/B01G844L88/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1472970921&sr=8-4&keywords=ssd+samsung+750+evo

Sandisk X400: https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-X400-SATA-512G-SD8SB8U-512G-1122/dp/B0196FPT1Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1472970852&sr=8-1&keywords=Sandisk+X400+512GB

and lastly the air cooler, i could go for another instead of Hyper 212, like :

Cryorig: https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Dcomputers&field-keywords=Cryorig+H5+Universal+be+quiet&rh=n%3A541966%2Ck%3ACryorig+H5+Universal+be+quiet

or Be Quiet! Shadow Rock Slim

WHat do you think is better?

Ram is ram and it doesn't really affect performance in games and there are many videos about it that prove my pont.. As for the CPU Cooler stick with the 212 EVO not worth splurging extra money for a couple of degrees off from your already so efficient cpu that doesn't make as much heat as the older generations of Intel CPU's. As for the storage since you probably have a HDD from your old rig just take that and grab a massive SSD. As for your motherboard why waste money on a Z series motherboard on a non-K CPU? Just grab a H170 motherboard and you can put that money somewhere else. Last of all I wouldn't go for a i7 just for gaming since having the extra threads is not worth the extra cash over the i5. Here is my PcPartPicker link and all the parts in that link go to Amazon. I have skimmed over the other posts in this thread and it seems like you already have a 1070.
