So i am working for this business to build 3 new computers so they can get a software that they want and i have run into the problem of when i switch out all the internals of the computer (Motherboard, cpu, gpu, ram) to a newer socket type and ram platform for example DDR 2 to DDR 3 i have the problem where when the computers start to boot into windows i blue screens and crashes. I have tried repairing windows (does nothing anyways but worth a shot) and i successfully got one to work by switching the compatibility mode on the drives in the BIOS from ACHI (i think that is what it was) to IDE. but one of the other computers i backed up everything to an external and removed the partitions and then re installed windows and then restored back ups and now that works but this third one i would like to avoid getting ride of everything and the ACHI thing does not work. Is there something else that i can do get this HDD to work?
maybe changing Sata modes in the registry helps you out.

But you need to this on the old hardware most likely, or try to boot into safe mode.
