Hello everyone, I am new on this site and I am also new in the world of PC's. I grew up on consoles and with the release of next gen consoles coming up, I have decided to make the switch to PC! I have always liked PC gaming and now that I am making some money I would like to get into them more.
The question I am creating this post for is: Should I spend around $600 for parts to make my own beginning gaming PC or should I spend around the same amount for a used PC on craigslist that would have some higher quality equipment and upgrade anything that is necessary.
Any input is greatly appreciated and I would love to hear suggestions on any parts that I should look into to build my own PC.
I have a parts list on PC Parts Picker and if you could check it out and make any suggestions on changes or anything that would help me out would be great. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ruhlig/saved/2jLB
Thanks for reading and I am looking forward to hearing from you guys!!!
Seems like a pretty nice build, though I can't be bothered to go into specifics tonight. If I were you, I'd build my own, you can never be quite sure of the stresses put on second hand components
I use ebay. The choice is yours to make. I suggest since you are new to buy new so you know all the parts will work and if they don't you can return it more easily then say if you buy parts off of ebay.
I wouldnt recommend a APU, they just dont cut it for 1080p gaming.
better get that for the same price http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1A0Gn
The 6300 six core does quite well in games and a 2 gb 7850 will let you max many things + 2 free games.
The mobo might be cheap, but newegg has a deal where they basicly give it to you for free :D. The other compromise is the 4 gb ram, but you could put in another 4 whenever you feel like it.
Edit: You could look on craigslist for a hdd, dvd drives and cases. hdds and dvd drives are so cheap and people have so many lying around that they give them away for free or a few dollars (there is a stack of dvd drives and 300gb hdds in my cellar xD). Cases are often leftovers from upgrades or harvested pcs and are too expensive to ship around. you could get something good for only 10-20 bucks if you search a bit.
I mean it's a good case, but you can get a scours 210 or something for cheaper. I have that case and I regret it ever since. It feels flimsy slightly at certain parts of the case and the USB 3.0 doesn't even go to the motherboard, it suppoused to go to the back of the case, to another usb 3 port. Also get the A10-6800K. A but better.
