So the X79 is for LGA 2011 right?

Yes, socket LGA2011.

I'm more into Evga and Asus..Or newer generation Gigabyte boards, they look sweet.

Damn Intel, do you have to keep creating new sockets? I have an Intel at the moment, but at the heart I'm an AMD fanboy =D


At least socket LGA2011 will be backwards compatible with 1366 heatsinks

yeah and next year in march i believe it is there releasing sandy bridge-e processors that are compatible with the 1155 boards today!

Maybe it's just the way the bracket is laid out, but is it just me or does the socket on the X79 board look huge?
