Hey guys, I've got a query to ask the great members of the tek syndicate forums. I am looking for a new cpu/mobo combo for editing/gaming, atm i am thinking of going with an ASRock Fatal1ty (Around $110 AUD) and an intel core i7 4770k (At around $380 AUD), atm i have an intel core i3 3220 and an asrock b75m r2.0, I really dont wanna go over $450 but i might have to :\ can someone help me?
Also, overclocking will one day be in my mind, so i would like to be set when i feel i need to :) (yes ik i cant overclock i3 3220)
also i have a radeon hd 7850 with 2gb of vram and a corsair vs650 (idk if i need to upgrade this)
Thanks! :)
Keep your board and buy a Xeon >> here is what is supported by your board.

Xeon E3 1220v2 > http://www.megabuy.com.au/intel-bx80637e31220v2-quad-core-xeon-cpu-e3-1220v2-lga1155-32ghz-8mb-cache-4-threads-p327001.html
With the rest of your budget, I'd recommend selling your 7850 and putting that money (along with your other funds) towards something like a 280x or 770 or a good second hand card - 7950/70, gtx670/80.
Your psu will be fine.
how much do you recon i should sell my gpu for? its an amd radeon 7850 hd 2gb gddr5 memory (also its the gamers edition if that helps) i bought it for $185
Not a whole lot. The HD 7850 is now rebranded as the R7 265, which can be gotten for as low as $150-160(USD) new. Check sites like ebay to see what used cards are going for now.
I also agree with deejata. Pick up the Xeon, and you should have a much, much stronger performing CPU.
