New Monitor! 1440p 144hz vs 4K 75hz+!

Hi folks

Im debating geting a high refresh or even GSync 1440p monitor or a nice big 4k screen pref with high hz too.

Context:

So im sporting a nice 1700x & GTX1080 and have been gaming on 1440p for years now (CF 5770 and Black Ops 2 I think). I cant go back to 1080p without pixel induced PTSD. ATM I have a Korean X-star 1440p monitor that easily overclocks to about 100hz, and its buttery smooth in most every game (DVI).

Ive recently gotten into Twitch streaming and the extra screen real estate offered by multi monitors has come at even more of a premium. Ive had a 1920x1200 TN panel as a 2nd screen for ages, and recently grabbed my old 32 inch 1080p TV as a 3rd screen.

The TV especially is atrocious up close but its phenomal having Discord and several streams, OBS etc open as I game on my main monitor.

I really want to swap out the TV with a new monitor, and im debating whether or not to get a 1440p or 4k screen. Either 1440p Gsync or something to replace my main gaming screen (although I dont really fancy chaining myself to Nvidia with Gsync) OR a 35+ inch 4k screen that can run games at decent smoothness.

I mainly play Arma 3 right now (FPS is RNG based in that  ) and some GTA V with friends, I deplore CS:GO and Moba's so 200+ fps is a misnomer for me. Ill probably get Destiny 2 but dont think 60fps + is going to do alot in that.

I dont really do not want to use scaling, so the 4k monitor would have to be fairly large for it to be workable. How are these things to game on? Would be a stepback from my 1440p Korean panel in terms of tearing / smoothness? Should I just get another 1440p panel and forget about 4k for now?

High refresh rate is IMO a better experience than higher pixel count. If you want a reasonably priced G-Sync solution to pair with your 1080 for the foreseeable future, I highly recommend this dell:

The color isn't the greatest and its not a huge panel, but its 30-165hz G-Sync and if you watch for deals, it occasionally drops under $400. Right now you can buy it with prime at $400, but if your not in a rush you can get it at a bit less than that if you shop around. It gives you the same resolution as your current main monitor and avoids any oddities which can come along with mixing resolutions. IMO I think it would be odd to have three different resolutions for your three different monitors.

Cool line of monitors.

Its about 400 euros for the 24 inch one, and 600 for 27. I think i'd spring for the 27 inch, just so all my monitors are the same size and my OCD doesn't drive me up the wall.

The difference in res doesn't really bother me so far, its 1920*1200 on my left, 1440p center and 1080p right. Its the difference in screen size, the one on the right is a 32 inch TV  For that reason I dont think I could live with 24 inch. Those extra 3 inches would give me a lot of satisfaction.

Good suggestion tho, all the gaming aimed monitors seem to have stealth fighter laserbeams coming out of them and are 800-900+
