Hi all!
I'm having issues with my new build that I just got, the PC refuses to turn on, and I don't know whether it's the PSU, the MOBO, the CPU or maybe even the RAM, I have no leads here.
My system specs are -
- i7 4771 @ stock
- 16 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM @ 1600 MHz
- PNY GTX 770
- Gigabyte GA-H87N-WIFI
- Silverstone RVZ01 Case
- Sliverstone SFX 450W PSU 80 plus gold
- SAMSUNG 840 EVO 250 GB SSD
The system doesn't turn on, everything that I'm aware has to be connected is, an 8 PIN and 6 PIN to the 770, the 4 PIN to the CPU, 24 PIN to the MOBO, SATA to the SSD, audio front panel, and front panel header. I've got a few questions about the header, because on the manual it says "MSG - and MSG +", but the case came with -P LED and +P LED instead of the "MSG", and I don't know whether that would make a difference or not. The PSU fan isn't spinning up, the GPU isn't either, in fact no fans are, and no LED's are coming on, and I don't know what to do at this stage, any help would be much appreciated.
This is a PDF to the manual of the board, just in case :) -

Thanks in advanced.
Same thing happened to me when I built my brothers build; except there were two different sets of power headers. Needless to say, I the switch plugged into the wrong one (and I never figured out what the second set was for). The same is true in your situation. Your motherboard has power header labeled "PW", not "MSG". Plug P+ into PW+ and same for -. MSG is for message
MSG (Message/Sleep LED, Yellow):
Connects to the power status indicator on the chassis front panel. The LED
is on when the system is operating. The LED is off when the system is in S3/
S4 sleep state or powered off (S5).
PW (Power Switch, Red):
Connects to the power switch on the chassis front panel. You may configure the way to turn off your
system using the power switch (refer to Chapter 2, "BIOS Setup," "Power Management," for more
information).
Could you please repeat that? I didn't quite get what you were saying.
Thanks in advance
My motherboard has headers for "RES" (reset) - and +, "HD" - and +, "MSG" (message) - and +, and PW (power switch) - and +, where's the "-P" coming from? My case has a "-P" and I don't know what that's for
Thanks
P and PW stand for the same thing: Power - they are for the power switch on your case. Plug the + in the + pint and the - in the - pin.
