New Map Creation TF2 (give some criticism)

Ok so i decided to give map building a chance, and i started what a better place to start than TF2. I just started today, if you see anything that could use improvement or a flaw point it out. The map is call Team Straights, its a narrow two base TD. I have picture to show you.

where is the edit key

Edit key? As in you wanna edit your poast?

Team Fortress Classic called, they want their map back.

hey its my first map ever i just started today

2003 called, they want their textures back.


Playstation called, it wants its polygons back.


Photoshop 3 for Mac called, it wants its 10% quality Save For Web JPEG back.


Oh, and dood, don't take it personal lol. It's ok. You could make one of those minimalist maps that are kinda like paintballing with basic walls and obstacles that don't look good or real, but give tactics and cover.

and not bad for a first, try doing some AA filtering, it will look much better

Needs moar blending.

For a TF2 map, it isn't that good. Maybe if you just wanted to rack up kills.


- Way too sniper friendly

- Too small

- Too open

- Not very detailed (textures could be better also)


This just isn't the type of map that should be in TF2.

Also, how about make the map a fucking long strip of land with a fuckton of obstacles to obstruct sniping.

textures/ structures are terrible.

Make the map bigger and stuff, its too small rite now.

its a nice map for counterstrike but not for tf2 you cant do shit in a map like this way too small and open

Yeah dude, like I was saying, just add some cover and improve texture quality. You don't need to do much custom crap, just make it very minimalist and tactical

The dip in the middle is way to Halo 1. Seriously, don't base a map off of Halo

Chuck in a Light_enviroment. If your not sure what that is or how to use one, have a look on a good tutorial website.

Other than that, the map seems simple and pretty damn sexy (hell if that map had a hole, I would tap it)
