I don't personally own one, but a buddy of mine does. We've used each other's notebooks in gaming sessions just for the lulz, and from the time that I used it and through the several hour gaming session, here are the things I have to say about it:
Pros:
good overall build quality. The touchpad DOES flex however, not as badly as other sites would claim
Speed. The thing was frickin fast. I mean, SLI 755m's in a notebook? Great level of Badassness
Temps weren't as bad as I was expecting. With such a high power notebook in a reasonable form factor, I thought it'd cook my legs, but as the exhausts are on the sides for the GPU, I had no issues with heat
And for my ONE con:
Actual performance did have some hiccups, as the SLI didn't work perfectly. The speeds were lightning fast, but the SLI drivers weren't updated, so I would have an awesome gaming experience of maybe ~60fps, but dips of <1 frame because the SLI hiccuped. After I updated his drivers from NVIDIA's website, it ran perfectly
All in all, I do recommend this laptop, but if I were to choose between a g510p and something else, I'd probably find a larger SAGER that comes with a 770m or maybe a nice ASUS, but the Lenovo g510p is definitely a gaming machine to buy.
Hope this helped! :)
breh, you're talking about the wrong notebook.
You're talking about the y510p.
y510p and y410p are great budget gaming notebooks, yes.
g510 is different. Intel HD 4600 integrated graphics is the only gpu option.
Personally, I would get the cheapest y410p as having the dedicated GPU will be leaps and bounds better than hd 4600.
