New Headphones

So lately i've been thinking of upgrading to true good quality headphones from my earbuds and was hoping for some suggestions, The only big limit I have is my price range and that is maximum of $100 and i live in the United States.

  • I don't need a microphone
  • I would like a pair that would work good on a Ipod or computer when gaming
  • For me quality of sound is everything so it needs to have kicking bass and at the same time good mids and highs
  • I would prefer a set that fully encloses around my ears, the stipulation is that i have a large head and ears.

All the suggestions and help would be greatly appricated.

Thanks in advance L

Well, I've heard lots of good things about the Sony XB500s

Audiotechnika ATH-M50 is going for $119 (was $109 a few weeks ago) on amazon right now I think, really good quality, extremely comfortable, audio quality makes every other pairs around that price sound like crap, really a perfect headphones for that price.

I have the beyerdynamic DT770 pro and they sound really well, good for gaming, excellent bass, closed and really comfortable, they are a bit more than your price range I think but consider them.

Also the ATM-H50 are excellent too but have less bass

Ive been using the JVC harx-900 and even though there pretty cheap (got them for 50 bucks) they sound really good. If your on a tight budget then id say this is the way to go.

Dt 770 pro (i have the 80ohm) are the best gaming headphones.

The mmx300 are the absolute best and are basically a 32ohm dt770

Dt770 are imo by far worth waiting a month extra. I would get a $20 pair of sony on ear headphones or something close to use until you can afford dt770s. They are absolutely worth the wait. I waited two months, and I am so glad I did. If you cannot afford to wait at all, the ath m50 are your best bet

Dt770s have amazing bass btw

Oh and dt770s are true over ear, they are huge, but dont make you look like an idiot in public

I agree with all the DT770 Pro from beyerdynamic. I paid about $225 two years ago for them... they should be cheaper now. The quality/bass are worth the extra$$$$
