Hello RTW, i am thinking about getting a new graphics card, because my old 8400 GS is well... old.. now i was thinking about getting one of these two cards:
Sparkle Nvidia Geforce 9800gx2

1024 MB GDDR3
600 MHz engine
2000 MHz memory clock
Or:
XFX Nvidia Geforce 260 GTX
€ 249,89 - $321.05
896 MB DDR3
576 MHz engine
1998 MHz
which of those should i choose? or maybe something completely different, if possible under 300 euros.
I would say ati this go around, but out of those 2 choices its obvious 9800gx2 will be alot better then a single 260 gtx. and on newegg they are selling one for under for around $300 so. The only reason I would recommend getting the 260 gtx is if your planning on spending more in the future and SLIing 2 of them.
buying it from newegg is no option, they don't ship to the Netherlands, and even if they would, the taxes would add a few hundred dollars :(
hmmm well in that case go with the 4870 or gtx 260 i mean you will be happy with either and i think they are around the same price point soo
The GTX 260 will have more stability and will run at smoother framerates compared to the GX2. The GX2 is known for acheiving high framerates, but they weren't really "constant." Both are about the same price, so, I'd say just go for the GTX 260. The GTX's are Nvidia's flagship cards for a reason.
try to find the 260 core 216. that should be under 300 n its very good
if i were you, i would go 260.
Get a PSU that can actually power a GTX260 216 and get that.
A good brand 750w is enough to power 2 GTX260 216 in SLI
Also, check the +12V rail it must have 36A for a single 260 core 216
