New Gaming/Editing PC

Hello, I'm looking to build a new Gaming PC January -2013 with a £1200 limit. I play FPS's (BF3,Cod etc) Intel Build. I also use editing programs such as premiere and after effects, I am from the UK and I am not sure what is the best options for me since this will be my first build.

Thanks, Peachy

Go for a i7 3770 (K is optional unless you plan to overclock) and an Nvidia GPU for CUDA processing in the Adobe suite programs.  Other than that After Effects loves more RAM and will basically use any amount you put in there to the fullest.  16GB would be lovely for AE (lower CAS the better) and an SSD for boot/programs will speed things up tons; especially with rendering/caching.  Also you'll want all your editing files on a HDD thats 7200RPM.

For a monitor you'll want basically any IPS panel monitor so that the colors are accurate.  Editing on a TN panel monitor can give you some straneg color distortions that you wont be able to catch.

If you have any other questions just ask.

to add to your post VA panels are also good and can be cheaper and have faster response time (for gaming) and if you can squeez it in the budget you could get a small Cache SSD for the HDD'(s) to help with handling the loads of video data youd be moving around/using.

Thak you for the help, its been really useful =)

if you give me a bit ill put a build together on PcparPicker UK for you.

I went a bit over: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/xAx5

http://pcpartpicker.com/uk/p/xAXn

A rig that could take on any Adobe program and crush it, along with an IPS monitor for better colours ect.. (i dont know if you needed on or not) plus some stuff i just thrw in because i didnt know your prefrence e.g the case.

I have to add though that this rig is for serious editing, if you arent going to do it that much you could probably swap some things out for others/save some money.

With that price range alot is possible. What brennanriddell posted is a good expamle you can modify to fit your price range. Though for the CPU I would def go with a FX 8 core from AMD rather then a hyperthreaded 4 core. Would also save a good bit of money.
