so this is my first computer that i did not buy prebuilt. i ordered everything from newegg. i received all parts in the mail a few days ago and have had nothing but problems since. first off my power supply was dead on arrival but thats not the main problem here. after a lot of extra money and time i finally got my computer going good and windows installed. about 2 hours in, while im still downloading my steam games, it crashes. i figure i overloaded it or maybe installed some drivers wrong so i start it back up and double check all divers and installs i had done so far. everything looks clear so i write it off as a one time thing that computers just seem to do rarely.
after opening steam and getting my downloads going again it crashes again. this time only minutes in. so i begin to look up issues and assume my 600w psu is not enough so i trad up for a 850. even more money out and after i install that. things are looking for for a few hours and then the problem happens again. i reinstall windows TRIPLE checking every single thing i click to make sure i make no faults. it all loads up but the problem wont leave. so i being to search online about why this can happen. i find many people saying things about all kinds of parts. i trade out a new hard drive but nothing. i take all but 1 stick of ram out but nothing. i run clean up software to make sure everything is ok but nothing. as far as all tests go my computer is fine.
now some of these crashes result in a blue screen that i only have about 2 seconds to read before it goes away and the other half my computer just seems to freeze up and then restart itself.
here is a list of all specs and all knowledge i have that may help
power supply - thermaltake smart m850w
GPU - XFX 7870 ghz edition
CPU - amd 8350
RAM - Adata 8GB (2x4gb) ddr3 1600 (NOTE - before reinstaling windows i looked in the bios and it said the ram was lower than that. i have not tried doing anything there as i dont really know what to do in a bios)
motherboard - asus m5a99x evo r2.0
--I DO NOT OVERCLOCK IN ANY WAY--
i really hope i can get some light shed on this problem. it has been an insanely long time trying to get the funds for this computer and getting it put together. i miss my video games!
