Hey Guys, Im looking into buying a new case and I need some help, im not really sure what I want now seeing that the Obsidian 800D has crap air cooling. Im looking for a nice big full tower case, with great cable management and excellent air cooling, It has to be BIG, there is a high chance I will water cool in the future.
Price Isn't a problem, just nothing to crazy :P
I have my eye on the Antec 1200 ATM, I just did my friends build with it and it seems great.
The Obsidian 800D is an amazing case. It doesn't need 'advanced cyclonic thermal compartment wind tunnel aerocool' cooling, Corsair does everything BUT advertise it as a case for those who are using liquid cooling. Area at the top for a 3x120mm radiator...internal liquid cooling holes for routing to a pump/reservoir. Next to the Lian Li P80 and the TJ07, this is one of the best cases out there--if you want a HUGE case with EXCELLENT cable management and extremely sufficient air cooling--with the possibility of liquid cooling in the future, you'd be a fool to NOT buy the Obsidian. Not only that, but it's a shade over $100 cheaper than most cases in it's class.
I don't know where you heard the 800D has crap air cooling, but in my experience it's been an absolute gem.
...Oh yeah, the TJ07 is a beast of a case as well, same goes for the P80. Both are a little on the expensive side, though. Also, in my time with the Thermaltake Spedo, I was pretty pleased. Make sure to check out the 'Advance Package' though--the regular one is fugly.
If you want to buy a Cosmos, you can buy the one housing my Phenom system. I'm sick of that piece of shit.
The way i see it, use those top fans for intake and the rear for exhaust, your psu is covered as far as cooling since it intakes and exhausts seperate from the inside. 800D is a good choice.
ok the HAF 932 would be my choice, only complain is the front fan in the case comes stop with red leds, so you would have to replace that if your going with a dif color, anyway, all the pros: quiet cools like a beast open and very large built from steal, so it is super strong side is a metal grill, not a plastic window (looks rly nice) has a cool military looking design
cons: side is a grill so dust gets in its like 60 pounds because its steal,
i don't find the dust to much of a problem, i have 2 long hair cats and all i do is just blow it out with the compressed air can about once every 2-3 months. anyway, it looks great, i might post some picturs when i finaly get me duel screens set up.
Neither are particularly flashy, but with a dremel and some plexiglas you can make the ATCS 840 a beast.
Not a fan of the HAF myself(although I own one), if only because the looks are a bit tacky, and the fans are way to expensive, not to mention the lack of a good looking window, but it performs well at least.
