New Builder Looking for Tips, The prices in Australia though :(

Ok so im looking into building my first pc, i have been gaming on a pre built garbage pc for about 2 years now and i think its time for an upgrade.

I have a budget of $2500 Australian, not including  keyboard, mouse or headset as i have already purchased these items.

I will be playing a wide variety of games from simulators to fps games, i will be modding games my games, who wouldn't. I am willing to change every single one of my parts if you have evidence that one is better than the part i have chosen.

I have put together a cart in pccasegear.com and have come to a total of $2458 including monitor, excluding os. I am going to be using this PC for gaming and i will be editing videos as i would like to upload the occasional video on youtube. I would like to get into overclocking in the future. This is my PC that i would like to put together and before you say it is a bit beefy for your first pc, i am aware and am willing to spend this kind of money.

Could you guys give me any insight on this build? I will be gaming on a BenQ XL2411T 24in LED 144Hz Gaming Monitor.

Anything to look out for when building, anywhere that i could save money but keep the close to or same performance, any compatibility issues anything like that would be greatly appreciated

Thankyou

It looks good. If you're only looking to upload the "occasional" YouTube video, the i5 is still an incredibly capable CPU. The i7 is faster for editing, but not essential. They perform equally well in games.

You could choose a lower watt PSU to save money.

The 780 is very good choice for your 144Hz monitor. You might consider an R9 290 or 290x, if either of those are cheaper than the 780. They perform similarly.

Other considerations:

Personally, I would choose a smaller form factor build. mATX or mITX. I am currently using an ATX, and it is a little too big for my needs. I did consider doing some water cooling, but I changed my mind. The Intel platform offers a decent variety of different sized motherboards. Why not enjoy that wider compatibility?

The CM heatsink is capable, but I would choose something that will deliver a higher overclock. The Haswell platform does get quite hot, because of the built-in voltage regulator. I love my Phanteks 12DX cooler. It will fit most mATX cases, all ATX cases, and some mITX cases e.g the Bitfenix Prodigy

Finally, you might consider changing your 2TB HDD to two 1TB HDDs. This would allow you to use RAID configurations for redundancy. Or you can use the second 1TB as a scratch disk for recording your videos.

Consider purchasing a capture card. This will take the stress away from your CPU when you record gameplay.

I recommend a better power supply brand, like a Seasonic

Use staticice.com.au to find prices its really great

Thankyou, could you recommend what os i should buy? I know it is alot of personal preference but i have heard 8.1 can give you better performance in games as it is designed for lower end build such as netbooks or tablets. Would this effect me? Also i was thinking about downgrading to the i5 to save some money and i will keep that considered. Could you recommend a PSU im not the most informed about PSU so i wouldn't know the best one for me, i would prefer a gold rated one but i dont really mind as long as the PSU is good quality and Haswell ready (Yes i know you can change the C state to make it Haswell ready, or thats what i have heard atleast). With the HDD situation as i am a first time builder i am not sure how to configure two hdd into raid 0. Is it a hard process? I greatly appreciate your help <3

Not that informed on PSU, i was looking towards the Corsair HX-650 v2 Gold +. but thanks i will look into a better PSU

Thanks i will check it out
