Hi
So I'm making a new computer with the i5 4670k, MSI Z87-G45 Gaming, 16gbs of ram
and Dual MSI R9 280X, heavily overclocked and I'm unsure of what PSU I will need.
Any Suggestions?
Thanks

750-850w bronze or up.
completely unessisary, the 280x uses 250w and the intel CPU maybe 100w overclocked
I recommend a 500w bronze
The OP said "Dual 280x" so I would recommend a 600-750 Watt bronze from a reputable retailer and brand.
Ah, I thought he was referring to the cooler name when he said dual
well my asus r9 280x Top does seem to use quite a lot of power when I overclock, although by default it should use less then 250 when you overclock it it sucks up a lot more juice (with a seriously diminishing return in performance vs additional power consumption, but then its always the way).
I would give them a 350 watt allowance each for headroom if you really want to overclock hard, but you might be dissapointed by how much gain you can get, its fine, but not amazing. it is at a great price/performance point anyway tho, and two of them will SLAY out of the box.
EDIT thinking about it though, the asus does use a custom vrm design so the msi may not use so much, or it may use more, couldn't tell you
For dual 280X XFX pro 750W 80+ gold. or if you like more headroom you can pay $10 more for the 850W version. also good options are Corsair RM850 or HX750/850.
