It will do very well in gaming Mell Kerrigan, here is a few FPS benches just for reference of your systems potential : http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/550

It's gonna be stupid fast for gaming and everything else. You could save money by dropping 'The Beast' and getting 2x4GB instead. Also, what is the brand of the PSU? I'd try swapping that Intel SSD for something like a HyperX 3K, SX900 or Vertex 4.

ok it's here!
Here's the Futuremark tests :)

Going to pick up skyrim later and give it a blast.. Planetside 2 is looking great at 60+ FPS most of the time, going as low as 30 FPS in huge fights, needless to say my Infiltrator self can pop skulls so much better than on my old Q6600.

If anyone wants me to do any specific tests (Logan, i'm looking at you since you were talking about this on Tek 0043!) then let me know.

That's some pretty badass RAM, your sure you need that?

Unless you intend on trying to render 1080p vids in a few seconds I think a downgrade may be the right way to go there.

I have done some video rendering for an old guild in The Old Republic on raids so i'll find it useful I'm sure :)

You could of saved some money with the RAM as the Piledriver max RAM speed is 1866MHz (without OCing) so you could of dropped to 1866MHz and OCed it.

An Optical drive....really?

You WILL want to get a different cooler ASAP as those stock AMD ones (though alright) are loud as balls when they spin up.

Other than that, nice hope you enjoy your rig

hah yeah optical just because i still have some things on CD's around here :P
I need to check out what I can get for the CPU cooler considering the case configuration.. I should grab some photos then some suggestions after.

I've never OC'd anything so i will be in new territory when i get to it.
I bought the things I did as i really need this PC to last me at least 3 years now without any major upgrades as i simply will not have the money to do it.

With the phantom (im gunna presume the 810 seeing as you havent stated which it is) you can put a pretty beefy cooler in it as it is quite large. You can go with a sealed watercooling unit such as the Corsair 100i as (or wait for the new Swiftech one) as it has dual rad support.

Other than that get the Cooler Master 212 Hyper Evo as it is good and cheap.

erm.. not sure on the model number for it... it's this one: http://www.hardwareheaven.com/reviewimages/nzxt-phantom/nzxt-phantom.jpg

They just describe it as the NZXT Phantom ATX Full Tower Case..

I'll get the photos now.

Where'd you get this? I'd rather pay over time for what I'm doing too, but I don't wanna overpay.

i got it from PC Specialist. (http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk)
