I made a build earlier but the total was round $1700 and i got rid of all the unnessary stuff that i wouldnt need.
Realised i wont be Overclocking so i changed the cooler and motherboard.
Lowered Ram to 8gb from 16gb
Lowered HDD from 2TB to 1TB and lowered SSD from 250GB to 120GB and i might just srop the ssd since i would only use it for windows and a few games.
Before there was a 750w psu but i dont need that i believe i wont have to upgrade for a while,i could be wrong though.
With my old build i was using the Fractal design R4 because he had sound dampening and im still rethinking about that since i HATE loud computer,my old computer was terribly loud.I have no idea how i could find out how loud this computer would be, like most poeple i put my case right next to me over to the right of me so sound would bug me so much while im gaming and stuff.
I also realised i dont need a expensive keyboard and mouse so im just going to get some cheapish keyboard and mouse.
If anyone can do better for around the same price range please show me.
With that CPU I would recommened to atleast consider overclocking, and for about $30-$50 more you could get an all in one CPU cooler for it
If you're just gaming, look for an AMD gpu (7950) to shave off some of the cost (I'd guess about $20-$40), but if you're set on NvIDIA, I would step down for a 660ti (save about $30-$40)to save some money, it can handle most games at high to maxed settings with great FPS at 1080p
If you want to save about $10-$20 step down the ram to 1600
If you do end up deciding you will be upgrading in the future, put a bit more money on the PSU and case, and a bigger SSD and hard drive, other than that the build looks pretty good to me
IMO, it would be good to spend on a good keyboard and mouse you're really comfortable with, so it'll be easier to play long sessions
since its for gaming only i dropped the SSD and stepped up to a 7970 and im going to look at some keyboards and a mouse, i might also step the PSU up to 750 or 850 watts so i can either add another 7970 or upgrade to a future Video card. What about the noise? how quiet/loud do you think it would be or should i use the Fractal Design R4 like i was going to in the first place?
Well, I honestly don't have much experience with the R4, but from what I've seen, with all the foam I doubt noise will be a problem. The only thing I would worry about making a lot of noise is the CPU fan and maybe the graphics cards, and maybe the case fans. But again, from all the foam I doubt it'd be a problem.
If the noise buggs you much and if you follow his idea and save some money the consider buying the Xigmatek dark knight for 50 its the best headisnck for that price also if you havent seen Logans review here it is:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMB93_upUmI
Logan said that it was really quiete so this wold be the best way to go in my opinion!
