so i have been moving from protector to protecor but tried bit defender free to see if buying the 3 device 3 year plan was going to be good. well safe to say if the main version is anything like the free i do not want it. it spams me non stop with pop ups on my screen or just not going away or telling me to make a account etc. non of the pop ups are telling me i have a virus or infection so i think im safe.
any suggestions ? kinda after a software that is lite on system resources but does the job excelently! i have tried hitman before and i did enjoy how well it worked but its only the 1 time use to remove malware off older machines or family pc etc
yea thats why i wanted to try bitdefender as ive always wanted to try it for its multi device deal for 1 licence so that me and the wife and our phones can be covered under 1 licence.
whats a paid AV thats good value for the requirements i had?
I've been using Eset Nod32 Antivirus since 2008 and I've never been disappointed. It stops threats, no unnecessary pop-ups. Usually takes like 0 processing power and about 72mb of ram on my system =)
I haven't really had a reason to switch though, here where I live magazines and tech news still gives it a high score. My friends sends me link where there antivirus hasn't seen any harmful data, yet eset picks it up immediately, and by then I can sit and chill while my friends has to try solve yet another virus issue.
I used to use AVG free, then Avast! free, and now I'm on Avira free. They all basically do the same thing, but I think Avira has been the least intrusive when it comes to the little pop-ups on the bottom right corner.
I pair it with a Malwarebytes scan once a week.
I've never been a fan of paid AV, especially Norton and McAfee.
I'm curious about Eset now though. I might try that out some time.
Maybe a good question indeed. It is still the best right? I indeed know Nod32 to be the best antivirusfor years now and it works silence in the background and it does what it must do.
a honest comparison grid online would be epic for the tech world. not one from a site thats clearly been paid to say norton is best etc lol. cough cnet cough
Norton gives me the chills.....i loved Norton manager back in the old days, but there anti virus. Just like mcaffee its preinstalled and free for a month or something and after that it can't leave you the fuck alone....Always there crying you need to subscribe.
Just thinking of those times i was behind somebody else his computer makes me cry....
