Just modernizing the house, been thinking of doings this for the past year or 2.
I'm looking to build a surveillance system and add a couple of Ethernet port to a few of areas in the house next month, right now I'm just doing the ports and then the cameras will come later.

Going to order the other tools needed like the puncher, crimper, face plates, Etc... And for the cameras I was going to order some of these. 3-7. Depends on how big of a range I get. Was also thinking of getting some dome cams for inside the house, but still on the fence.

Then I'm going to have to setup a parallel network to run my IP cameras, that'll be fun, no really.
And last but not least the NAS, maybe something similar to what Logan built for his subterfuge, a little more lower spec, Or the Thecus N5810 Pro that Wendell did a review of, maybe both, lol.
But really going to need to build another NAS just for my media, or is it okay to keep my surveillance video on the same system that I'm going to stream videos from and backup my system to? Probably not. Just asking.
Tell me if this sounds good or not, I want to get everyone's opinion on this, maybe even Logan, Wendell, and Qain.
