Network Issues with FreeNAS and LAGG

Been trying to get Link Aggregation to work on my FreeNAS box.

Hardware
NetGear GS724T V3
SuperMico Board with Dual Intel NIC's
16GB ECC

I setup Link Aggregation on a X58 motherboard running windows server it worked perfectly so I assume the switch is working.

The Problem:

When I 1st created the lagg as soon as I saved it the server crashed. It would no longer boot into the console. I tried booting into the "Initial-Install" and it worked so I tried again, this time I was able to make the LAGG but when I went to configure it after I entered the IP address all this random text filled the screen and was moving to fast to read and the server crashed again! Now server wont even attempted to boot from the USB stick, just has an error about no bootable media.

I had recently upgraded from 9.10 to 9.10.1 so I did a fresh install of 9.10.1 on a brand new USB stick. I can now create a LAGG, configure IPv4 etc without the server crashing. :)

The problem is after I set it up and reboot the server is glitching out the switch? It just puts it in an endless reset loop and the only way to stop is to unplug the server. I tried different sequences like having it plunged when I create the LAGG unpluged, different Ethernet ports. Having created the LAGG in the switch before and after I create the LAGG in freeNAS doesn't matter it always puts the switch into a reset loop.

I assume I'm just missing something?

We need more information about your hardware and configuration to come to a conclusion, please specify.

What extra do you need to know?

Its a Billion BiPAC 7800NXL Modem/Router that is connected to the NetGear GS724T. The GS724T has 4x desktop computers, a laptop and the Freenas server connected.

The freeNAS server is SuperMicro X9SCL IntelĀ® 82579LM and 82574L, 2x Gigabit LAN ports.

Settings in both the 7800NXL and GS724T and mostly defaults. In those links you posted the poeple talked about VLAN1 and VLAN10 is this something I need to set up?

No, you don't really need VLAN's to use link aggregation, is this your first time setting this up? How is your networking knowledge?

I don't really have any network experience, this is the most advanced thing I have undertaken.

Ok, before asking for help on forums, (sure, it will maybe be an easier solution however this comes with red-tape, I'll explain further) go and research about it, study your hardware, analyze your software and learn how to use it. This way you know what to do when you want to do something with it. ;)

Googlefu is your friend when searching for information quickly, you may find that is method is best in the long run.
