Hi guys,
I'm a Student in Scotland and I have just left school and can't decide what do to at college, I have an offer to do Computer Networking in college but I'm unsure whether to choose it over Mechanical Engineering. My question is mainly what you have found of the industry and the job as whole and opportunities there is in the industry? I'm also Curious as to what the course is enjoyable for someone into Networks?
Thanks

Both are good career paths. If you love Networking, thaere is 'TONS' of work for people with skills. Just consider all the CISCO certs and how much they make. There's plenty of demand there. I don't know enough about Mech:Engi career, but every one I knew in that field is not currently working in that field for various reasons.
One other thing Iam curious of is how much network engineering involves Linux. Linux is something Iam very interested in and would like to make a career out of it.
