NEStalgia

This is the NEStalgia build I am helping GigabusterEXE with.

We are taking his Corsair Carbide 300r and mocking it up Nintendo style.

I am doing the painting portion of the build. It's a work in progress.

Using spray paint. I know of no other way without buying special equipment. And I am a cheap bastard.

Applying four or more coats of each color to make it scratch resistant, and a good solid look.

We tried a clear coat, but it made everything look frosty and white-ish.

Photos:

The faceplate after the light gray paint was applied; the grills and buttons are removed.

We put in the grill, and I finished the Drive bays. I think they came out nicely.

The sidepanels are a darker gray. Has a slightly textured finish, as well.

And that's what we have so far.

Thinking about making the power and reset buttons red, as well as the bolts that were on the front as decoration.

What do you guys think? I will update it as we finish painting more parts. :)

UPDATE. Final build is done. Photoshoot time!

AND THERE WE ARE.

Nintendo themed colors on a 300r.

We are finished with it for now, but in the future, may add red to the buttons/black bolts in the front.

Or possible fans with red blades.

Or maybe a stencil "Nintendo" Logo on the front.

Feedback would be appreciated. :)

can't wait to get the case itself painted tomorrow!

ITS FINISHED, uploading pictures!

UPDATED.

Good job on the spray paint! I was never able to get things to turn out that well.

Looks great! Next step, powder coating, and scratch builds!

That colour way is pretty damn slick. Nice Job

nice man

Outstanding!

I would love to get the money to buy the tools for that. haha. I would love to powder coat things.

the light gray was 99 cent walmart brand paint. Haha. Turns out the cheap stuff works very well after 4 coats.

Looks pretty damn cool.

Thanks I freaking love this thing!!!!

This is awesome.

This is freakin sweet. Great job on everything.

This is beautiful.

How did yall get the textured look on the chassis?

i have the window version of that case(black color) and i have to say that color is pretty sweet.

I used a textured spray paint. Was like $3 at walmart.

Im really surprised that spraypaint did so well.

textured dark grey

non textured 1$ light grey

Most of the photos are down to me, might just be the school firewall. Not sure though.
