Need Wired Router

Budget $70-130

Needs

  • Firewall, DHCP, port forwarding.
  • At least two LAN ports minimum.
  • Packet inspection and QoS a bonus.
  • Logging ability with email delivery preferred.
  • Dynamic DNS a big plus.

My setup will be from my DSL router (configured as a modem only) to router, then to an 8 port gigabit ethernet switch and a wireless N router (used as an access point only). That's why the need for at least two LAN ports. The equipment needs to be of good quality and be able to handle a large workload of DNS request and media streaming. There will be a server with remote desktop and three HTPC boxes pulling at this heavily. The workload this should be expected to handle is 3 wired machines and 5 wireless devices constantly accessing the internet. Normally all at the same time. Equipment suggestions would be appreciated.

If you can find a refurbed Linksys e4200 v1 and flash DD-WRT you would be golden

ASUS N56R is a golden choice if you don't want to flash DD-WRT... all the settings you want are there

Thanks for the suggestions so far everyone. If possible I'd like to stay with a wired only solution. I think my dollar will go further if I stay with segregated equipment.

Does anyone have any experience with the CISCO SMB line-up?
