Need urgent help! [ PSU issue ]

Ah well, this has been a really good learning curve on what I need to look out for when buying a PSU & GPU :P ... Do you know of any PSU's that are 80 + Gold 400W-600W ?? I wouldn't know where to start. ( my old PSU was 860W or something plus I don't know it's efficiency so anything below 700W will be a nice little chunk of the bills )

all 80+ gold that I've heard good things about, no personal experience but I'm getting the HX-650 for my build soon.

Is there any PSU's that have 2  8 pin PCIE connectors in that range to save me any more heart break? :P

-thanks

I'm no 100% sure but I do believe the HX-650 does.

SeaSonic G Series SSR-550RM 550W ATX12V / EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD

2 x 6+2pin PCI-E (2 8 pin connections)

the 650W gold HX has - x1 EPS/ATX12V 4-pin and 8-pin compatible, x4 PCI-Express 6-pin and 8-pin compatible ?? So would this work without any hassle?? :P ... When I get this build finished am looking forward to uploading some pictures when I find a good mITX case :)

i'd read the comments on that one here ->> http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-HX650-Professional-Series-Modular/dp/B008NJGPTA

Corsair make some good cheap start up and middle of the road stuff not normally high quality.

ah the chirping noise. They said to spend a little extra for the 750W -- http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-HX750-Professional-Series-Modular/dp/B008O0RUVU/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1379423245&sr=1-1&keywords=corsair+hx750w

Could this handle the GTX 680 Classified, Asus Maximus VI Impact, Latest i5 K series CPU ?? with the i5 overclocked to 4.2GHz ??

-thanks again all this information is priceless!

Well 750w is too much power realy and aparently that one 'hums' instead of 'chirping'

Hmm :/ what should I do then haha? :P ... This is turning into quite the hassle :( ... I guess it's all part of making a system

The SeaSonic G 550w shud be more than capable of running that rig with stable power seasonic make some of the best you can buy psu's along with superflower power psu's

Ok cheers I'll get that then :) So for it to work would I still need to get a molex to 8-pin adapter yeah?

No it has x2 6+2 connectors thats 2 8pin pcie conectors for a video card

You have confused me, will it work then? Will I need any adapters or will it run straight out of the box? :P ...

sorry for being so nooby

-thanks

Yes it will work fine its just 2 8pin conectors that have been split so you can ether use them in a 6pin card or a 8pin card

No adapters will be reqired
