Need to make a complete image of ibook hdd to image os and user content to a new drive

I dos’t know how though.

Basically I went on amazon and spent 8 dollars on sata to ide laptop drive adapters. I lowe the machine, but my main issue is hard driwe space. So I bought these adapters and plan to drop a 1tb sshd into it.

And before anyone says ssd, anything sata2 or up, spinner or flash, will populate the bus. An ssd will make little difference aside from milliseconds of time for file retrieval.

But… idk how to make an image of the drive. I know theres a way to do it with target disk mode, but I don’t know much past that to be honest.

Does anyone know?

Does it have OSX?

I used to use a program called Carbon Copy Cloner and it would clone the entire drive, OS and all, to the new drive. OSX didn’t seem to care either because I never encountered an issue even after cloning a clone of a clone.

If its OSX then either @w.meri answer or time machine.

Could just pop the drive into a linux machine and dd it over also

I forgot about that app completely. That might be what I do!
