Need suggestions on PC build within 1400 USD budget with two monitors (24-27 inch). Purpose: office work like Ms Office & Outlook and watching movies. Peripherals not included
The miniPC suggested by @anon7678104 is a good start - but I think we can do better for ~$1400. However, if you just want something for games and fun, that is your easiest and cheapest option by far.
Here is a nice 1440p high refresh package that includes everything (including mice, keyboard and monitors) and in a small form factor that allows you to stick the PC in the middle of the two screens. You could skip the RX 6600, too.

Now, where can we save money on this? If the use case, as you describe it, is light use, then you can save:
- $60 on switching the CPU to a 13100 instead. This is, however, a huge hit to performance.
- $45 by going stock cooler. You will have a louder and slightly hotter machine, but you could.
- $50 on the RAM. 16 GB is good enough, but the person using the PC will appreciate the 32 GB more than you think. If this is for a Linux build 16GB is enough.
- $15 on the Storage, a Samsung 980 256 GB will cost you 75% of the capacity. You could, but… There are also cheaper DRAM less drives, I do not recommend the $25 extra you save on those. Just a poor experience alltogether.
- $210 on the Graphics card. You really do not need it, but I have included it because it is the cheapest GPU to support AV1.
- $20 on case and PSU. The InWin Chopin MAX works great if you can consider a setup without a GPU. It does have a weak PSU, however, so this setup might be a tad bit too power hungry.
You could also shave $500 if you already have monitors, mice and keyboard. So in total you could shave $900-ish off here, but there you have it! ![]()
