If you like Kreator you'd probably dig Destruction which is another German thrash band. You might also look into some early Voivod if you like your thrash a little weird/progressive/sci-fi ish.
You might enjoy Blind Guardian or Sabaton. The former does mostly fantasy-centric songs while the latter sings about war and military.
Give Rhapsody of Fire or Symphony X, Similar to Blind Guardian, Also a very good banned that has been recomended twice.
Machine Head is really fast, brutal, raw and complex thrash/groove metal. I would recommend their first album (burn my eyes) to start with, but if that is to heavy try super charger as it has an easier style to it (personally I don't like that album very much).
A Swedish metal band that you can check out are Acsend. Songs: Taste for life, When all hope fades.
A finnish metal band that I like very much right now are Diablo. Songs: The preacher, Icaros.
