Need some help on my rig

So, I'm going to make a budget gaming build

What I do (from important to least important) : Gaming,Converting videos , Surfing, Listening to music and watching hd videos

My budget is around 950 - 1000 Us dollars

Overclocking? NO, a big no. Crossfire? Yes maybe next year

Additional comments: I would like to know how many wattage I need for my rig, and can someone give me a link on how to build step by step, preferably on connecting the power supply, my last build got burnt and smoked my hdd and other components so crap..

Processor- Intel Core i5 3470
Memory- Some 4gb x 2 ram
Video Card- Sapphire HD7950
Optical Drive- Asus DRW-24B5ST 24x Sata
Corsair 650 watts
Hard Drive- 500gb Seagate HDD
SSD- HD-INTEL 60gb 2.5" SSD 330 Series
Motherboard- Asrock ZH77 Pro MVP

Should I stick to this or scrap the ssd and get a 7970, and how about the mobo? Thank You

The jump from a 7950 to a 7970 really isn't that much, I'd keep the SSD if I were you. 650W is more than enough. And as for a guide on how to build a PC this has pretty much everything https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84NvDMMrCNU
