I play a lot of CS:GO, and seem to have fallen victim to the marketing trap. I want a recommendation on headphones/a headset for less than $150 that have great positional audio, if possible.
I have been following the audio videos, and I am very interested in the Audio Technica AUD ATHAD500X headphones, but I'm honestly VERY uninformed on things like sound quality and how these will perform in a game like CS:GO. Thank you for your help in advance.
I am in the same boat. I think I will be getting a pair of ATH500x headphones by the end of the month. I have been reading around and they seem to be the best for FPS games.

AD-500s or 700s. I owned a pair of AD-700s before they were discontinued and became the ATH700x series. Great headphones for positional audio. They were open back so they didn't suit my environment :( anyway sold them and got a pair of Sennheiser PC 350s. I like these too.
