Need some Altec help

Greetings everyone! Unfortunately, my very first post is of a problem. Hopefully someone knows who can help.

I have white (I'm sure the colour has no relevance) Altec Lansing FX3022 speakers, but one of the sides isn't working. The side with the control volume and ports for plug-ins for power and what not does, but the other side isn't. I opened it up and realized that there is a spongy material attached to a black plastic part which I assumed was the core of the speaker. I put a rubber band to simply hold it in its correct spot and hooked it up to the laptop and it works. But that same speaker still isn't working on the desktop. Is there a setting on the desktop I can change to fix this problem? I really don't want to get new speakers, not enough money to replace them.

Im currently using Turtle Beaches that were around 60 dollars CAD to listen to everything as I watch!

Thanks for the help!

If it works on the laptop, but not the desktop, make sure that the balance on your desktop is set to both, and not just left, or right. the balance option should be in your Audio settings.

wow if its really as simple as that...I have a lot to learn. Ill try that and get back to you! Thank you!

Unfortunately, everything is at 100% for both speakers...
