Need some advice with my new Rig

Parts List:  OS Win 7 Pro 64 Bit

Case: Corsair Obsidian 900D

CPU: I7 4960X

Mobo: Rampage IV Black Edition

PSU: Corsair AX1500i 1500 Watt using Red Cable kit

Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum 32 Gigs 2133MHz 1.65V

Water Loop(s) XSPC D5 170 Photon Tube/Pump 480 Rad&240Rad for CPU Loop Fans in p/p config

2nd Loop(in Future) XSPC D5 170 Photon Tube/Pump 480 Rad for Vid Cards Fans in p/p config

GPU's: 2 Evga GTX 780TI Kingpin Edition

SSD's: 2 512 Samsung 840 Pro, 1 1TB Samsung EVO

OPT: 1 LG BluRay/DVD Burner/Reader Super Multi Blue BH16NS40, LGUH12NS30 BD/DVD Rom

OK, That's most of the parts list. I saw a Build that Tek built on youtube ,similar to what I'm about to build.

http://youtu.be/sv8baCwGSYw

So in that vid you will see how many fans I will have in this Beast. 22 in total. I need to fig out how to control all them fans with a fan controller that can handle all the voltage from all the fans.  In the vid I see Tek used the Corsair Link and I need some advice on how that all connects.

The next issue is the D5Photon Tube/pump.   Now you can choose what model you want, the 170ml or the 270ml, but you can also choose between a manual speed flow control, or a PWM pump. I'm wondering if I should get the PWM model and conn that to the mobo and control it with the Asus Fan Xpert 2?  Kinda stuck there.

In his vid, it looks like he has all the fans in a p/p config, but all the fans seem to be pulling the air IN and the only 2 exhausts are the 140mm fan in the rear, the PSU fan is facing outward (because with this case you set it in vertically so you can add another PSU) and the 240 rad in the bottom are the only exhausts. Is that enough?

So if anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate some advice!!!

Thanks,

JJ

OK, first off you can save a lot of money by going with 4930K as they are a very similar chip and they preform similarly, second the Kingpin card is designed for LN2 overclocking so getting it for a normal rig is kinda pointless since you won't get close to the maximum performance of those cards, 1500W is way overkill a 1200W is plenty for SLI 780tis, you could also save quite a bit on the RAM if you went with standard RAM (the heatsink on dominator platinum is what your paying for and the RAM doesn't perform any better that other RAM)

Kiaxa,

I hear what you're saying about the Kingpin cards, but I haven't bought them yet.  Still working that one out n thanks for the advice.I'll look into that. The Psu is already Bought. I wanted the 2=1500 watt PSU because I do plan on eventually adding a 3rd and mayb even a 4th card. What do you think about the Titan Black Edtition. I have a Bro that put 2 in his build and he is Very happy with them and has his 4960X runnin at 5.4 with NO probs. As far as the 4960 and the 4930, I thought about it, but just went with th4960.  I've seen a few Builds runnin at 5.6,5.7 @ 61 C. What I had asked for help with was the fan controller(s) and the Pump on the D5 Photon pump/Res.  They now sell the kit where you can choose between the standard manual sped flow control, or now the have a PWM Model which I;m guessing you can conn it to your Mobo and control the pump thru through  win interface. So I'm stuck on that part before I buy it, I need some feedback. Gonna call Asus and c if they have some advice on that subject since it seems to be a New concept.at least with the XSPC D5 photon tube/pump.  As far as the ram, I've Always used Corsair's Memory. It's Never let me down, so why switch?  The same goes for all my parts.  I like to use Corsairs Memory and PSU's. Vid Cards, Evga, SSD's Samsung, Mech HD's, WD.  We all have our favs so their mine.Check this out. I'm thinking about using the Enermax TB Vegas Led Red fans on the one side of the rads. But Believe me, I won't be using them like friggin disco lights, just the red on without all the flashing. Why the, they have the best sp I could find in an Led fan. Also the blades are removable for cleaning , and they mount with Rubber and have 3 speeds.  What I really am looking for, is advice on a fan controller that can handle 20+ fans. I saw Tek using the Corsair Link fan controllers.  I know what your thinking, the Link Software isn't that great, but I hear they're working on it so I'm willing to give it a try.

So Thanks For Your Thoughts on my build and I Really Appreciate you answering my thread. But we both know, everyone has their fav brands as far as Hardware. I tend to use what worked for me in the past, plus I check out the latest benchmarks for all Hardware .  If there is a big diff, I'll give it a shot!!!  and Thanks for pointing that out about the Kingpin Cards, I overlooked that!!!!  Like I said, They are they only things left I need so I can start Building.

TY Again

JJ

Is this thread real? You just named off the most expensive parts your could find and said you want to make it into a gaming rig. The rig you're listing out here is something content creators and developers dream about, it's shameful to degrade this to a gaming rig. But alas, it's your money to burn, not mine so don't sell yourself short by getting a wimpy Titan Black, go for the Nvidia Quaddro K6000, that's a mans gaming card!

Kiaxa,

There's NO WAY I would ever need to play with LN.  It's for Extreme guys that have the time and money to get to what 2GHz faster than you can with a Water loop.  I have no desire to even go there lol. It's insane.

I just got done looking at the Evga Titan Black That comes with the water block installed on the card when you buy it.  Well the Hdryo Copper Superclocked Signature and the Hydro Copper Superclocked do, But the oth 2 Black Edition Titan cards, you have to buy the Waterblock separately, and it almost costs as much as the 2 that come with the WB installed.  I mean for the price of the Hyrdo Copper Superclocked Signature, It's $400 more than the TB Superclocked. So rite there, if I were to buy two of the 3799's instead of the3791's, for $200 more I cxould buy my 3ed card.  And the Base and Boost clocks are not worth the price tag for me anyway?

So yeah, TY for pointing that out!!!  At least I won't freeze off my finger using water lol. Unfortunately, I'll just have to leave the LN2 swtch disabled on my mobo.

Peace,

JJ

Hahahahah......Dude.Awsome Prof pic!!!!

I said a gaming rig, but I only play a few games.  I do a lot of A/V renedering. and after buying Dell(S)

Hp(S) I'll Never buy another Brand Name PC!!!!!  Period!!!!!

I did pick out some expensive parts.yeah, but I could have went with a Quadro card for $500 itself!!!

I ain't that rich bro. I just wanna Build something that will last me at leats 5 years, and with this setup, I don't think I'll need to.

Your totally rite, If I wanted to build just a Gaming Rig, I woulda went a whole diff way.  But I'm happy with the parts I picked. I just Never g=had 23 fans in my system B4 and was wondering how to control them all???? I figured it out, so all is kool.  All I Need is the Titan Black n I'm ready to Build.  I'm not a crazy as OC'er using LN. Just want to b able to keep up with the times as a few years go bye. And if in 5 years there is a better way to get what I want out of my Build.I'll go for it then  The Best thing is NEVER having to call Dell or any of the othe Rip off Companies out there. This build should last me 5 years at least, n for what I'm doing, these parts are perfect!!!  I do a lot of audio mixing for my band n am starting to do some vide work with it.  I was checking out Black Magic's site at the 1080P camera's......how bout 20 g's for 1 cam ( shaking my head in amazement) How much are the 4k cams gonna cost???  As much as a downpayment on a house???

TY for the laugh, you made my day!!!! lol

hahahah get a quadro.I wish!!!

I meant $4500 for the Quadro itself!
