I know this might not be suited in Build a PC but: a) It is related to building a PC and b) This place gets alot of traffic and I need a quick answer. This will be deleted after I get an answer
I know the replies are unrelated, but I didn't want to spam the forums, so I renamed this old topic. I am here to ask any good alternate PSUs to the Fractal Integra R2 650W. I was going to pick it up, but luckily saw that it was sold by Integra and not Amazon, so V.A.T may not be able to be taken off.
It has to be available from Amazon.co.uk, and the cheaper (As long as it is good quality) the better.
EDIT: NEED A NEW CASE TOO. Goddamn PC Part Picker taking stuff from suppliers other than Amazon.
I'm pretty sure that they can't take off the VAT. You can claim it back if you're buying the items as a business expense, but not for your own purchases. http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/vat/managing/reclaiming/reclaim.htm. I know that if you live anywhere in the EU, you have to pay the VAT rate of the country that you're buying from.
I don't think you quite understand. Where I live, V.A.T is not taken. Guernsey, Channel Islands. Our government is sepeate to anywhere else and they do not take V.A.T, we are renound or it.
Besides, Amazon already takes off V.A.T, so it's nothing legal as far as I know.
Scan.co.uk calculates prices without VAT, I understand. Not sure if they will take it off for you at the point of purchase, with consideration to where you live. I am a bit sceptial about the VAT being nullified because you are purchasing from a mainland store.
"Products shipped to the Bailiwick of Guernsey and States of Jersey are not charged VAT. This is because the Channel Islands aren't part of the European Union with respect to VAT.
Our system records multiple addresses to a single account. If any address contains a valid GY or JE postcode, that address is marked as being 'outside the VAT area'.
To qualify for VAT-free shipping, it's the delivery address, not the cardholder address, or invoice address (business customers only) which must have the JE or GY postcode. Channel Island residents shipping products to mainland addresses will be charged VAT."
