Need opinion on which build to get?

So I making a new build and I was wondering which one to go with. I do 3D Modelling(ZBrush & Blender), Illustrator, and plan to start playing more PC games. And also I would like to know which build would be able to handle the LG 34UM95-P, which the resolution is 3440x1440.

Please & Thank You.

LGA 2011 Build:

CPU: i7-4930K

GPU: 2 x XFX R9-280 3GB

MOBO: Rampage IV X79 Micro-ATX

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850W

RAM: Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB)

COOLER: Corsair H105

CASE: Obsidian 350D

LGA 1150 Build

CPU: i7-4790K

GPU: EVGA GTX 780 3GB

MOBO: Maximus VII Z97 Micro-ATX

PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850W

RAM: Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB)

COOLER: Corsair H75

CASE: Silverstone FT03

LGA 2011 build, since having a monitor that large requires some serious gpu horsepower.

Although both would work fine, the 2011 would work better, and if you can afford it, why not :D that's a beastly system, and worlds better than the 1150 setup

Go AMD!

I am going to point out that this will heavily come down to CUDA vs openCL for your 3D modelling stuff.

From my research, CUDA has way more support, but I know openCL is getting a lot of momentum as well.

I would probably go with what is going to cut your render time the most. Also.. I am a fan of a single graphics card over crossfire/SLI.

Here are your builds:

First: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/mLCxRB ~$2000

Second: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qVdkWZ~$1500

Here is a couple tweaked builds:

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wV3PQ7 ~$1700

  • evga superclocked acx 780 ti

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/vRsTpg ~$2000

  • 780 SLI

Both of my builds have quality parts. The difference between the 4930k and the 4970k isnt big enough to spend an additional $400 (CPU and motherboard) when you can put that toward more graphical power. If you want AMD I would put in a r9-290X over 280X crossfire..., but those of these would lose horribly to 780 sli, and a 780 ti is nothing to joke about either.
